Return To Avalon by Lino

Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, Lino graduated college with two degrees (History and Pre-Med.) from Miami University of Ohio. But Linos calling has always been to compose and perform music so after college he moved to Los Angeles to do what he loves most.

Lino began studying guitar at the age of nine with classical master George Bachmann. During his high school years he was naturally drawn to rock music although it never diverted him from his interest in classical. "I was very lucky to have been instructed in classical music before I ventured into the rock realm" Lino explains. "It made me a well-rounded musician and gave me a lot to draw from as a composer later on. I learned to appreciate all styles of music instead of just focusing on one particular genre." This is evident in Lino's incredibly unique and versatile layering of guitars in combination with other instruments and his bold blending of musical styles. And it's what makes his music so distinct.

"This style of music is very personal and exciting for me because it is the most honest music I have ever recorded. I don't try to accommodate the latest trends in a particular musical style or write music that would comfortably fit into a particular existing format" Lino explains.

In October2004 Lino's next release "Return to Avalon" while maintaining his exceptionally unique style. Both CDs boast the same unique qualities...not exclusively jazz classical folk pop or new age but a provocative blend of all of these influences combined with unforgettable melodic passages that take the listener on a different journey with each and every song. We call it Lino Music.

Lino Music is a departure from his previous rock recordings which include Seven Skys a pop/rock project (Zero Records released in Asia 1996); 88 Crash a heavy modern rock album (MTM Metal released in Europe summer 2001) and his most recent rock project V33 a raw mix of modern industrial and techno rock.

But it was Lino's smooth instrumental music that captured the attention and the passion of Splash Entertainment's president Sharon Grant. She explains "When I heard Lino's demo I thought this is the freshest most unique diverse and compelling music I have ever heard come out of a single artist. When Lino performs live he just rocks the audience with this amazing music - I watch people of all types and ages and get pulled in...everybody loves it." I couldn't resist getting involved as his manager."

Sharon Grant-Splash Entertainment in conjunction with DMI's diversified marketing promotions and PR team will manage all aspects of promotion including radio promotion print and television publicity as well as tour management. Satin Blue received national NAC airplay (through NAC Record Promoter Roger Lifeset-Peer Pressure Promotion) and reached recognition in the top 40 NAV charts within a month of its release. Satin Blue is featured on DMX MUZAK previously on The Weather Channel and cable music stations. Both releases will be targeted for placement in major motion pictures television and cable programming. Lino performs regularly in southern California and has plans for extensive touring throughout the US supporting his new release.

Lino's composing skills are also in demand in the television and film industry. Lino heads up development for Splash Entertainment's production/music division with projects that include composing for television film and cable programs. Most recently Lino composed for the National Geographic television series The Human Edge (Fox Star Productions). Lino also enjoys recording and producing for other artists in his own J-Wolf Studios located in West Hills CA. In addition Lino performs on other artist's recordings most recently for (SAGA lead singer) Michael Sadler's new solo release Clear (michaelsadler.com).

When Lino isn't working on music writing is another outlet for his creativity and what led him to complete a manuscript for a novel currently being shopped for a potential movie deal. Having a passion for his art Lino will bring his experience and communication skills to an upcoming lecture series starting at Kent State where he will address students in the music program on a practical approach to making a living in the music industry.

Lino currently has endorsements with Yamaha and S.I.T. Strings. Lino uses Yamaha's SLG Silent classical and steel string guitars and S.I.T. Strings exclusively.
