"The extraordinary duo
of singer Heidi Hepler and guitarist Michéle Ramo perform virtuoso wonders,
blending southern European and American motifs with Brazilian, Jazz and Cabaret spices, performed with amazing musicianship.
HEPLER has an immediately recognizable voice, for she sounds like no one else, and while she would undoubtedly list numerous influences, they have been absorbed and blended into a truly personal style. She has operatic chops and dead-on pitch, without which the blend that she achieves with Ramo would not be possible, and her lively romantic personality comes out in every song. This exuberance is matched perfectly by Michéle's amazing nylon string guitar playing, which takes the place of a full orchestra, providing unison or harmony lines, chords, and walking bass lines all at the same time.
RAMO has developed a technically dazzling, exciting style that is amazingly original, incorporating a broad range of guitar styles, invoking Gypsy caravans, Sicily, Andalusia, Brazil, Harlem and many points in between.

Sweet and saucy, fun and funky, definitely swingin'; this lindy hopping songwriter has possibly invented a new genre of danceable music. But maybe not.
"I think I must write music like I cook," she says, "because people dip their spoons in and take a taste and say, "ooh, it's sort of like a swinging-folk-jazz-country-blues-rockabilly fusion type thing." And I just go, "uh-huh" and hope they don't get sick!"
Honestly I just take whatever I've got, add some 6ths, 7ths, and 9ths, a bit of walking big bass, and then pour a whopping dose of clarinets and horns over the top (cuz you can't go wrong with clarinets)! So, is that jazz? Pretty much, I suspect. Although I'm not expert. And sooner or later I'll probably get busted by the great jazz chefs in the sky."
"I just wanna write stuff that makes those people over there smile and snap their fingers, and those people over there drink and dance. So let's see, how am I doing?" - (Style: Big Band / Swing)
